Maurizio Ciampi

Maurizio Ciampi is a renowned teacher of operatic repertoire conducting at the State Conservatory "S. Cecilia" in Rome. His masterclasses, held worldwide, have trained numerous students who have gone on to win prestigious international competitions; many of his students now hold teaching positions at Italian and foreign conservatories and Opera Theaters.

Maurizio Ciampi has had a distinguished concert career as a pianist and organist since a very young age, gaining recognition for his virtuosity on the instruments. His recording of J. Demessieux's "Etudes" propelled him to international fame. He successfully earned degrees in piano, organ, composition, and orchestral conducting, as well as a history degree with the highest honors, praise, and publication honors.

After leaving his soloist career to focus on orchestral conducting, he channeled his passion primarily into the realm of opera. Following work in numerous Italian and international theaters, Ciampi concluded his career in 2010 as the Director of the Italian Opera at the "Bolshoi" Theater in Tashkent.

Following his retirement from the operatic stage, he dedicated himself to delving into philological aspects and the performance practice of operatic repertoire, significantly contributing to the revision and discographic edition of numerous handwritten operas, including the pioneering work on the first edition of Vincenzo Bellini's "Adelson and Salvini."

He served as the Artistic Director in important festivals and musical institutions (he was already the director of the International Festival of Pompeii at the age of 26), demonstrating remarkable leadership skills.
