CATHERINE WYN-ROGERS
Mezzo-Soprano
Catherine Wyn-Rogers was a Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music, studying with Meriel St Clair and gaining several prizes including the Dame Clara Butt award. She continued her studies with Ellis Keeler and now works with Diane Forlano.

She is regular guest of the Three Choirs and Edinburgh festivals, and BBC Proms. She has also appeared at the Bayerische Staatsoper, English National Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Semper Oper Dresden, Teatro Real Madrid, Netherlands Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Opéra National de Paris and Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Amongst her many performances, she has sung Erda and Waltraute in Valencia and Florence with Mehta, appeared at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Sosostris The Midsummer Marriage, and made her debut with the Metropolitan Opera as Adelaide Arabella. Catherine has also performed for the Salzburg, Verbier, Aldeburgh and Enescu festivals.
On the concert platform, she has appeared with Leonard Slatkin, Bernard Haitink, Sir Andrew Davis, Sir Colin Davis, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Sir Charles Mackerras, Roger Norrington, Edward Gardner and Daniel Barenboim. Her numerous recordings include The Dream of Gerontius with Daniel Barenboim, Samson with Harry Christophers, Mozart's Vespers with Trevor Pinnock for Deutsche Grammophon, Peter Grimes with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Colin Davis, and Graham Johnson's Complete Schubert Edition for Hyperion.
Recent and upcoming projects include Queen of the Fairies Iolanthe for English National Opera, Mother Goose The Rake’s Progress for the Grange Festival, Auntie Peter Grimes for Opéra de Paris, the Royal Opera House and for Teatro Real Madrid, Widow Zimmerlein Die Schweigsame Frau with the Bayerische Staatsoper, and Lady Blanche Princess Ida with the Orchestra of the Age of Englightenment, Dream of Gerontius and Dvořák Stabat Mater for King’s College Cambridge, Haydn’s Theresienmesse with the Handel & Haydn Society in Boston and Messiah with Harry Christophers for The Sixteen.
