Jinglong Sun is the associate principal violist of the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra. An accomplished violinist and violist who has performed in Germany, Sun obtained his undergraduate’s degree at China’s Central Conservatory of Music (CCM), studying under Professor Wang Changhai, renowned viola PhD mentor. Sun then went on to be admitted by the Universität der Künste Berlin as the only Chinese student in his cohort, studying under Ulrich Knörzer, famed violist and board member of the Berlin Philharmonic. During his studies, Sun earned an intern placement with the Berlin Philharmonic and minored in child music education psychology and child violin & viola education. In 2014, Sun obtained his Master’s degree with honors. As a professional musician, he has composed a number of musicals and operas.
