Hengyi Wang, Assistant Principal trumpet player of Ningbo Symphony Orchestra.
He studied playing trumpet at the age of 8 from Mr. Che Zi Zhao, the Principal trumpet player of the Chinese Railway Corps. At the age of 16, he studied under Professor Chen Guang, the professor of Central CoWang Hengyi is the associate principal trumpet player at the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra. Wang started learning the trumpet at the age of 8, training under Che Zizhao, principal trumpet player of the China Railway Corps’ art troupe. At the age of 16, he began training under Prof. Chen Guang, postgraduate supervisor at China’s Central Conservatory of Music (CCM). In 2011, Wang was admitted to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he studied under Johann Plank, principal trumpet player of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and graduated with top grades in 2019, earning a Master’s degree. He performed two solo concerts and was the principal trumpet player of the Webern Symphonie Orchestra during his time in university.

Wang is a silver medalist in the Asia Pacific Trumpet Competition and a third-prize winner in the brass category of the 2020 Zhejiang Xinsong Competition for artists. In 2021, Wang was the principal trumpet player in a 100-strong trumpet section at the 100^th CPC Anniversary Celebration Symphony Concert of Zhejiang Province.
